[Alias] Artemisia selengensis (Gansu Handbook of Chinese Herbal Medicine), blood-replenishing grass, broom grass, spoon-leaf grass, blood-seeing sorrow (Handbook of Commonly Used Chinese Herbal Medicines in the North), bald flower (Shaanxi Chinese Herbal Medicine), fly flower (Ningxia Handbook of Chinese Herbal Medicine), white flowered lycopodii (Henan Chinese Herbal Medicine).

[Source] It is the whole herb with roots of the Limonium bicolor, a plant of the Plumeria family. Harvest in spring when it sprouts or in autumn or winter.

[Original form] Perennial herb, up to 60 cm tall, smooth and hairless all over. Stems tufted, erect or inclined. Leaves are multi-rooted; spatulate or long obovate, with base narrowed into a wing-petiole and nearly entire. The flower stem is erect and much branched, with the inflorescence attached to the branch end and located on one side, or close to the head inflorescence; the calyx tube is funnel-shaped, with hairs on the ribs, 5-lobed margins, folded, membranous, white or light yellow, persistent; 5 cerci, spoon-shaped to elliptic; 5 stamens, attached to the base of the petals; ovary superior, 1-chambered, with 5 styles, separate, and stigma capitate. The capsule has 5 edges and is enclosed in the calyx. Flowering period is from July to October.

[Habitat distribution] It mostly grows in saline-alkali lands. Distributed in Liaoning, Shaanxi, Gansu, Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, Hebei, Jiangsu, Inner Mongolia and other places.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet and bitter, neutral.

【Functions and indications】 Nourishes blood, stops bleeding, disperses blood stasis, regulates menstruation, benefits the spleen, and strengthens the stomach. Treat metrorrhagia, hematuria and irregular menstruation.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 0.6 to 1 liang.

[Additional prescription] For the treatment of functional uterine bleeding, cervical cancer, pyelonephritis, and hematuria: Take 50 cents to 2 taels of two-color blood-replenishing grass, decocted in water and taken orally.
