[Source] It is the rhizome of Curcuam kwangsiensis SGLeset CFLiang, a plant of the Zingiberaceae family .

[Original form] Perennial herb, 50-110cm tall. There are 4 to 7 leaves in two rows, oblong, 8 to 13 cm long; the bracts on the cherry part are oblong, pink to lavender at the tip, no flowers in the axils, the middle and lower bracts are ovate, light green, with 2 to several flowers in the axils; the calyx tube is white; the corolla is nearly funnel-shaped, about 2.5 cm long, with 3 petals, pink, oblong, the upper one is larger, and the tip is hooded; the microscopic reduced stamens are similar in shape to the petals and are light yellow. Flowering period is from April to September.

[Habitat distribution] Grown on sunny hillsides, ditch edges, and forest edges, either wild or cultivated. Mainly produced in Guangxi.

[Properties] The rhizome is oblong or long oval, 3.5-7cm long, 1.5-3cm in diameter, with a rounded base and a blunt tip. The surface is yellow-brown to gray, smooth, with obvious or absent segments, dotted root marks or residual root marks, and a row of sunken bud marks and rhizome marks on each side. The quality is hard and heavy. It has a fragrant aroma and a slightly bitter and spicy taste.
