[Pharmacological action] Oral administration of 0.8 mg/kg of dogfoot toxin has a stronger anti-inflammatory effect on egg white arthritis in rats than oral administration of 50 mg/kg of cortisone acetate or 50 mg/kg of selinexor. The median lethal dose of dog's foot toxin in mice is 1.79 mg/kg. The symptoms of poisoning, such as prostrating oneself, vomiting, and paroxysmal convulsions, are similar to those of poisoning caused by herbal extracts.

【Functions and indications】Anti-inflammatory, analgesic. Treat rheumatic joint pain. (Abstracts of the 1962 Academic Conference of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association)

[Additional prescription] Treats acute and chronic strain-induced low back pain, and rheumatic pain in the low back and back: 7 fen to 1 qian of the dermis of dog's foot grass root (double the amount for fresh ones), 5 to 6 fresh pine tips, and 1 liang of white wine. Boil it in water until the volume of alcohol is reduced by half and drink it while hot. For seriously ill patients, take it three times in a row. (Kunming)
