Cangshan Huangtian is a herbaceous plant, 18-30cm tall, and glabrous. The roots are numerous and clustered, often spindle-shaped and thickened at the bottom. The stem is unbranched or has one branch at the top. There are 2 basal leaves with petioles 5-12cm long. The leaf blade is broadly ovate in outline, 1.5-4cm long and 2-6cm wide. It is twice-ternately divided, with one lobe shortly petiolated and the last lobe narrowly obovate to linear-lanceolate, with a short tip at the tip and sessile. There are 2-3 stem leaves, growing above the middle of the stem, 1-3.5cm long, with short petioles, the leaf blade is ovate, pinnately divided, and the lobes are linear and 1-2mm wide. Inflorescence terminal, 7.5-10cm long; bracts, lower ones are leaf-like, upper ones are not split; corolla yellow, 16-18mm long, spur narrow conical, 7-10mm long, often straight.

Ecological environment: Grown on hillside grasslands at an altitude of about 3000m.

The whole plant contains protopine, corycavine, corynoline, d-aceiylcorynoline and 6-acetonylcorynoline.
