The efficacy and function of ganoderma

Ganoderma lucidum is a common Chinese medicine with many different functions. It can regulate some diseases of the human body. Let us learn about its specific functions below.

[Source] Medicinal material source: Fermented juice of Sonneratia cupicola, a plant of the Sonnerataceae family.

[Original form] Sonneratia cupicola, shrub or tree, 2-4m high. Both branches and twigs have raised nodes, which are nearly quadrangular. Leaves are opposite; petioles are flat, 5-10mm long; leaf blades are obovate or broadly elliptic, 4.5-8cm long, 3-5cm wide, with rounded apex and base gradually narrowing into a cuneate shape. The midrib is flat on the upper side and convex and slightly wider on the lower side. The lateral veins are slender and not obvious. The pedicel is short and strong; the calyx tube is bell-shaped or inverted cone-shaped with obvious ridges, and the shape remains unchanged when the fruit matures. The lobes are ovate-triangular, reversed outside and red inside, 1.5 cm long and about 5 mm wide, usually shorter than the calyx tube; the petals are the same number as the calyx, and are difficult to distinguish from the filaments, 13-20 mm long, 0.5-1.2 mm wide, white, sometimes light red at the bottom; there are many stamens, white filaments, and kidney-shaped anthers; the disk is saucer-shaped; the ovary is multi-chambered. When ripe, the fruit is 3-4cm in diameter and 2-2.5cm long. The flowering period is spring, and the fruiting period is autumn and winter.
