[Source] Medicinal material source: The root of the grape plant Vitis vinifera.

[Original form] A climbing shrub of the three-leaved blackberry. Hairless or somewhat hairy. The stem is slightly flat; the tendrils are slender and long, forked and opposite to the leaves. Finger-shaped compound leaves are alternate; petiole is 3-4cm long; leaflets are 3, leaflets are quite thick when fresh, membranous when dry, broadly ovate or broadly rhombic, 4-7cm long, 3.5-4cm wide, with acute or obtuse apex, broadly cuneate or rounded base, with short soft hairs below, wavy crenates on the margin, and glandular muktaphys at the tooth end; petiolules are 4-6mm long, and the terminal ones are longer. Flowers are bisexual, corymbs 2-3-branched, composed of multi-flowered cymes, usually longer than leaves; peduncle 5-8cm long; flowers with short stalks, about 2mm in diameter; calyx cup-shaped; petals 4, white, triangular-ovate, with nipple-like pubescence; stamens 4, opposite to petals; disk entire, fused to ovary; ovary 2-chambered. The berries are oblate, smooth, and contain 3-4 seeds. The seeds are triangular, convex on the back with a small blunt tubercle, and cuneate on the abdomen. Flowering period is April.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows in steep slopes and sandy shrubs.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and dampness; disperse blood stasis and relieve pain. Mainly used for rheumatic pain, traumatic injury, eczema, and baldness
