Its main effects are to nourish the brain and aid sleep, calm the liver and extinguish wind. However, people with high blood lipids should eat less of it, mainly because pig brain contains a large amount of cholesterol, which may aggravate the condition.

Prepare the ingredients including half a native chicken, 10g of Gastrodia elata, 10 red dates, 20 wolfberries, etc.; first clean the native chicken, cut into pieces and remove the water, clean the Gastrodia elata and cut into slices, and also clean the red dates and wolfberries; put the native chicken into a casserole, pour in an appropriate amount of water at one time, add ginger, pepper, etc. and bring to a boil over high heat, then change to medium or low heat and simmer; then add Gastrodia elata, red dates, and wolfberries and simmer for 2-3 hours, then add an appropriate amount of salt. Its main function is to nourish the brain and calm the mind, relax the meridians and activate the collaterals.
