Drynaria fortunei is a traditional Chinese medicine that is very effective in treating kidney deficiency. Drynaria fortunei has high medicinal value. In addition to treating kidney deficiency, it can also be used to treat lumbar muscle pain, rheumatism and other diseases, and the therapeutic effect is very significant. Drynaria fortunei is generally used for decoction, and is boiled together with different medicinal materials when treating different diseases. So, what exactly is Drynaria fortunei? Drynaria fortunei, also known as: cliff ginger, rock ginger, climbing ginger, meat-breaking ginger, stone-breaking ginger, flying rat, ox flying dragon, flying wind, and moth grass. This fern belongs to the order Pteridales and family Osteoporaceae. It can be harvested throughout the year, and the sand and mud are removed, and it is dried, or the hair (scales) are burned off. This product is flat and long, mostly curved and branched, with densely covered dark brown to dark brown small scales on the surface, soft like hair, and brown or dark brown if burned by fire. There are raised or sunken circular leaf marks on both sides and the upper surface, and a few have petiole residues and fibrous root residues. It is light, brittle, and easy to break. The cross section is reddish-brown, and the vascular bundles are yellow dots arranged in rings. Odorless, light taste, slightly astringent. Drynaria nourishes the kidney, promotes blood circulation and stops bleeding. It is used to treat chronic diarrhea due to kidney deficiency, low back pain, rheumatic pain, toothache, tinnitus, bruises, bone injuries, appendicitis, alopecia areata, and corns. Drynaria can nourish the kidneys, strengthen bones, heal injuries and relieve pain. It is used for low back pain due to kidney deficiency, tinnitus, deafness, loose teeth, falls, sprains, and fractures of tendons and bones. External treatment of alopecia areata and vitiligo. Pharmacological effects of Rhizoma Drynariae 1. According to the research of Zhou Tongshui et al. from China Pharmaceutical University, oral administration of water decoction of Quercus ferns rhizomes (20g/kg, 30g/kg) and naringin (equivalent to 20g/kg of the original drug) promoted the healing of bone injuries in experimental rats. 2. Oral administration of 7.5-50g/kg of Drynaria decoction can stimulate the compensatory proliferation of osteoarticular chondrocytes in rats with experimental arthritis, and can partially improve the degeneration of articular cartilage caused by changes in mechanical stress lines, thereby reducing the incidence of osteoarticular lesions. 3. The dihydroflavonoid glycosides of Drynaria fortunei can increase the beating frequency of rat and neonatal cardiomyocytes cultured in vitro, make the contraction stronger, and have a pacemaker effect on cardiomyocytes. Its mechanism of action may be similar to that of a β-receptor agonist. 4. Oral administration of 0.8 ml/kg of Drynaria fortunei decoction (100%) can significantly prevent the increase of serum cholesterol and triglycerides in experimental hyperlipidemia rabbits, and prevent the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in the aortic wall. 5. Guinea pig experiments suggest that the combined use of Drynaria fortunei decoction and kanamycin can reduce the toxic effects of kanamycin on the cochlea, but cannot control the development of toxic deafness after drug withdrawal. Drynaria fortunei has extremely high medicinal value. It can be taken for many diseases in people's bodies. Here are its medicinal values: ① For the treatment of constant pain in the waist and legs: 50 grams of Drynaria fortunei, 75 grams of cinnamon bark, 1.5 grams of Achyranthes bidentata (remove the seedlings), 100 grams of Areca catechu, 150 grams of Psoralea corylifolia (slightly stir-fried), 100 grams of benzoin (add walnut kernels and pound until cooked).
