After taking this medicine, you will definitely be "happy"

Losing temper and being unhappy fall into the category of emotional frustration in traditional Chinese medicine, while in Western medicine they are considered psychological and emotional problems. The World Health Organization defines health as: health is not merely the absence of disease, but rather a "state of complete physical, mental and social well-being of an individual." The health of the mental state is increasingly valued and has become one of the criteria for measuring whether a person is healthy or not. For people with high blood pressure, emotions can have a very harmful impact on blood pressure.

TCM believes that temper tantrums and melancholy are manifestations of liver qi disharmony and stagnation. If the symptoms occur occasionally and can be resolved on their own, they are usually not treated as a disease, but mainly treated with psychological counseling and mediation. If the patient is in a depressed state for a long time and cannot resolve it on his own, it will exceed the body's regulatory range over time, causing qi disorder and blood imbalance, which becomes a disease, which TCM calls depression.

Therefore, when a person is in a state of temper, depression, etc. for a long time, he needs to take Chinese medicine. Any Chinese medicine that has the effect of soothing the liver and relieving depression, and regulating Qi can be used. The following is a brief introduction to several traditional Chinese medicines that have such effects.

Bupleurum

It is the dried root of the Umbelliferae plant Bupleurum. It is pungent and bitter in nature, and is good at regulating liver qi, soothing the liver and relieving depression. It is often used to treat chest, flank or lower abdominal distension and pain caused by liver failure to regulate qi and stagnation of qi, depression, menstrual disorders and dysmenorrhea in women. Bupleurum is used in many common Chinese patent medicines in our lives, such as Chaihu Shugan San and Xiaoyao San. It is an important medicine for treating liver qi stagnation.

【Cyperus rotundus】

It is the dried rhizome of the Cyperus rotundus plant, which mainly enters the liver meridian and qi. It has a fragrant and pungent taste, is good at dispersing the stagnation of liver qi, and has a bitter taste to calm the rebellious liver qi. It is often an important medicine for soothing the liver, relieving depression, promoting qi and relieving pain. It is often used together with Bupleurum, Chuanxiong, Citrus aurantium, etc., such as Chaihu Shugan San.

【Buddha's Hand】

It is the dried fruit of the bergamot plant of the Rutaceae family, also known as nine-clawed wood, five-finger orange, and bergamot. Buddha's hand is mainly produced in Fujian, Guangdong, Sichuan, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, among which the Buddha's hand in Jinhua, Zhejiang is the most famous. It is known as "the fairy fruit among fruits and the rare flower in the world" and is elegantly called "Golden Buddha's Hand". Pungent in nature and bitter in nature, it is good at soothing the liver and relieving depression, promoting qi movement and relieving pain.

Here are a few recipes for soothing the liver and relieving depression:

1. Take 10g of bergamot, 9g of green tangerine peel and 6g of Toosendan fruit, decocted in water and taken once in the morning and evening.

2. Take 12-15 grams of fresh bergamot (6 grams of dried bergamot), brew with boiling water, and drink as tea.

3. 10 grams of bergamot, 50 grams of rice, and appropriate amount of rock sugar. Wash the Buddha's hand, boil it in water to extract the juice, add rice and rock sugar and cook it into porridge. It has the effect of strengthening the spleen and stomach, regulating qi and relieving pain.

【Rose】

It is the dried flower buds of the rose plant of the Rosaceae family. It tastes sweet, is warm in nature, has a fragrant smell, and has a mild medicinal property. It can soothe the liver and relieve depression, promote blood circulation and relieve pain. This product is combined with bergamot to regulate qi, relieve depression, and harmonize the liver and stomach. It is used for liver-stomach disharmony, flank pain, epigastric pain, belching and loss of appetite, etc., with 6 grams of rose and 10 grams of bergamot. Soak in boiling water and drink as tea.

There are many traditional Chinese medicines that can soothe the liver and relieve depression, but the most important ones are psychological adjustments to soothe emotions. If the symptoms are still not relieved after taking traditional Chinese medicine, you need to see a doctor.
