Cnidium monnieri, also known as wild carrot seed, is the dried mature fruit of the Umbelliferae plant Cnidium monnieri. It is a double-hanging fruit, oval in shape, 2 to 4 mm long and about 2 mm in diameter. The efficacy and function of Cnidium monnieri

1. Anti-fungal. It has an inhibitory effect on Epidermophyton purpurogenum in vitro.

2. Antiviral. It has a certain inhibitory effect on Newcastle virus cultured in chicken embryos and a significant inhibitory effect on influenza virus.

3. Anti-insect. In clinical practice, Cnidium monnieri extract is used to expel ascaris, and can turn patients with positive stool test results for ascaris eggs into negative results.

4. Type of hormone action. Experiments have shown that Cnidium monnieri can prolong the mating period of normal mice and induce a mating period in castrated mice, and it has a sex hormone-like effect.

5. Anti-trichomoniasis. When observed under a microscope, Trichomonas stopped moving immediately after the addition of Cnidium monnieri hormone, and stopped moving 1 minute after using 10% Cnidium monnieri ointment, while the control group could continue moving for more than 1 hour.
