The efficacy and function of boiling water with lithospermum officinale

Lithospermum officinale is also known as Zidan, Zizhi, Dixue, etc. Lithospermum officinale is generally used as a therapeutic Chinese medicinal material. It is dried in the air or air-dried over a low fire. Its key function is to clear away heat and cool blood. And its types are soft lithospermum and hard lithospermum, which have high efficacy and functions, can fight tumors, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and can also resist microorganisms. So, what are the effects and functions of boiling water with purple grass?

Lithospermum officinale has very high efficacy and functions, among which the most obvious is its medicinal value.

1. Antimicrobial

Lithospermum has an inhibitory effect on Jingke 68-1 virus infection outside the body. Shikonin can inhibit the common cold virus in chicken embryos and slow down the somatic cell mutation of polio virus infection in tissue modeling. Lithospermum has an inhibitory effect on the immune response of hepatitis B antigen (HBsAg) and has an inhibitory effect on the HAA immunoprecipitation line. Lithospermum has an inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Shigella dysenteriae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Lithospermum decoction has a certain effect on tuberculosis in experimental mice.

2. Effects on the smooth muscles of the digestive system

The decoction of lithospermum can enhance the nervousness of the colon or cause it to contract. This effect may be related to the intestinal function of lithospermum to promote bowel movement and moisturize the intestines. It is common in people with constipation caused by heat toxic sores, rashes and rashes. On the other hand, shikonin and acetylshikonin, when the concentration is higher than 10-4g/ml, can relax the intestine and have the effect of antagonizing intestinal contractile substances such as acetylcholine, nitrosamines, angiotensin 2 and barium chloride. This effect is not based on the plant nervous system or the corresponding protein kinase, but is a direct result of the stimulation of melanin components. This effect may relieve the spasm pain of gastrointestinal smooth muscle.

3. Effect on blood coagulation

Abdominal injection of lithospermum melanin components can block the anticoagulant effect of heparin. This effect can antagonize the coagulation inhibition factor and promote the formation of blood clots in varicose veins.

4. Anti-tumor effect

Lithospermum officinale extract has a certain inhibitory effect on the late stage of Hela cell DNA synthesis (G2 phase), delaying its entry into degradation, resulting in a decrease in the degradation index. In the first 4 hours, the degradation index decreased by 70%. However, it has no inhibitory effect on the uptake of 3H-thymidine by the cells, so it has no effect on DNA synthesis; it has an effect similar to colchicine on the middle and late stages of cell breakdown, but the effect is more moderate, so in addition to affecting the G2 phase of cells, lithospermum may also interfere with other stages. Further experiments confirmed that lithospermum parkinsonian can reduce the incidence of spontaneous breast cancer (in mice).
