When people see snakeberry, they think it looks very similar to strawberry. It is often found on roadsides and mountains in the wild. Snakeberry usually grows where snakes are found, which is where its name comes from. Many people say it is poisonous and cannot be eaten. In fact, snakeberry is slightly poisonous. It has no effect on the body if consumed in small amounts, but consuming it in large amounts may harm the body. Snakeberry has the effects of clearing heat and cooling blood, reducing swelling and relieving cough. If you accidentally get a sore throat, you can pick some snakeberries and boil them in water to reduce the heat. Snakeberry contains anti-tumor and anti-cancer substances and has high medicinal value. 1. Anti-cancer effect: 5mg/ml and 10mg/ml of snakeberry water extract acted on the human esophageal cancer Eca-109 cell line cultured in vitro, and its division index was significantly inhibited; 10mg/ml and 15mg/ml could reduce the density of Eca-109 cells and make the structure blurred. After 48h of action, the formation of cell colonies was significantly inhibited, and 15mg/ml could completely make the cells lose their ability to reproduce; 10mg/ml and 15mg/ml had a slight inhibitory effect on the DNA synthesis of Eca-109 cells (3H-TdR labeling), indicating that the effect of snakeberry on esophageal cancer cells may be mainly through the inhibition of cell division and DNA synthesis. Its polysaccharide part showed significant anti-tumor activity in mice transplanted with S/180 sarcoma at 100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg. 2. Enhance immune function: Snakeberry fluid extract (2g/ml) significantly increased the peritoneal macrophage function of mice, which was manifested by a significant increase in the cell body. Each cell body phagocytosed as many as 7-8 chicken red blood cells, but there was no significant difference in the digestion status at all levels compared with the control group. Although the color of snakeberry looks very attractive, it actually has no taste. Snakeberry can be eaten, but it is not delicious. Snakeberry can be used as medicine to treat a variety of diseases. Although it contains a slight poison, eating a small amount will not cause poisoning. But pregnant women should not consume it. If you have a sore throat, you can drink more water and eat more vegetables and fruits. Medicines generally have certain toxicity, so it is best not to use them indiscriminately. |
