[Original form] Broad-leaved Polygala, also known as: Broad-leaved Polygala, Siberian Polygala, Large Polygala, Ovate-leaved Polygala, Daughter's Red, and Jade Red Grass.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on sunny hillsides or sandy and dry plains. Distributed in Northeast, North China, Northwest and Southwest China.

【Nature and flavor】 Sweet, bitter, cold.

【Functions and indications】 Nourishes yin, clears heat, removes phlegm and detoxifies. Treat tuberculosis, fever, cough, leucorrhea, low back pain, pneumonia, stomachache, dysentery, bruises, rheumatic pain, and furunculosis.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 3 to 5 qian. For external use: mash and apply.

[Additional prescription] For treating postpartum tuberculosis in women with fever, sweating, and loss of appetite: use 50 cents of dried sweet Polygala tenuifolia (peel and core removed) or 1 liang of fresh one.
