[Original form] Paspalum distichum is a perennial herb. There are two racemes, opposite, 2-6cm long; the rachis is 1.5-2mm wide; the spikelets are arranged in two rows, obovate-oblong, 3-3.5mm long, with an acute apex and sparsely pubescent; the first glume is absent or tiny, the second glume is adnately pubescent, with a distinct midrib; the first lemma has 3-5 veins, usually glabrous, with a pointed apex, the second lemma is herbaceous, as long as the spikelet, yellow-green, with a pointed apex and covered with hairs. The grains are oval, grey, with a few fine hairs at the tip, and are about 2.5 mm long. Flowering and fruiting period is from May to September.
