Different drugs require different infusion sets - today we will take a look at the infusion set family

The disposable infusion sets commonly used in clinical practice are made of polyvinyl chloride (containing DEHP), and the nominal pore size of the drug filter membrane is 15 μm.

According to literature reports, the distribution of particles of different sizes in drug solutions is basically the same: particles below 10μm account for about 98.4% of the total number of particles in the infusion, while particles larger than 10μm account for only 1.6%. When particles in drug solutions enter the human body, they will cause a series of infusion reactions, such as infusion pain, fever, allergies, phlebitis, etc.

In order to avoid particle damage and improve infusion safety, nursing staff should choose precision filtration infusion sets according to the drugs and patients.
