Amazon is playing an increasingly important role in shopping discovery, with 72% of consumers searching for products on Amazon, according to a new survey from Kenshoo.

26% of Amazon users said they search for alternatives, background information and product prices on Amazon before buying something in a physical store. At the same time, 51% of consumers said they would search for more product information or compare prices on Amazon even if they found a satisfactory product on a retail website.

In addition, 9% of respondents said they often share great products they found on Amazon with friends, colleagues or family.
