[Source] Medicinal material source: The young seedlings of Osmanthus fragrans, a plant of the Osmanthaceae family.

[Original form] A large terrestrial fern plant, up to 2m tall. Leaves are monomorphic, but pinnae are dimorphic; pinnae are thick leathery and smooth; petiole is about 60cm long, hard, shiny, and up to 1.5cm thick at the bottom; leaf blade is about 80cm long, about 50cm wide, and oblong; pinnae are 25-30 pairs, opposite at the bottom, about 22cm long, 2-2.5cm wide, alternate at the top, obliquely upward, long lanceolate, gradually pointed at the top, margin entire or wavy, ± recurved, slightly serrated, base needle-shaped, with short petiole 2-5mm; veins are rough, two to three times divergent; several pairs of pinnae in the middle or above the middle are fertile, about 5-12cm long, less than 1cm wide, linear, sometimes only the upper part of the pinnae is fertile, and the base is broad and sterile; pinnae on both sides of the main vein are cracked into many ovate or oblong sporangium spikelets, with dark brown sporangium clusters on the back.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown under evergreen mixed forests at an altitude of about 1600m.
