[Source] Medicinal material source: The rhizome of Dryopteris peninsula, a plant of the Dryopteris family.

【Original form】 The plant is up to 50cm tall. The rhizome is short and erect, and together with the base of the petiole, is densely covered with brown, lanceolate scales. Leaves are clustered; petiole 10-15cm long, straw-colored, sparsely scaled upward and on the rachis; leaf blade papery, oblong, 15-35cm long, 12-15cm wide, apex acuminate and pinnate, base slightly narrowed, smooth above, sparsely dark brown, lanceolate scales below and on the rachis, bipinnate; pinnates are broad-lanceolate, slightly sickle-shaped, 8-9cm long, 2-3cm wide, with short petioles, 1 pair opposite at the base, pinnae oblong-lanceolate, apex obtuse, base ear-shaped, margins slightly serrated or entire; venation pinnate, obvious below; spore leaf pinnae are at the top, 11-15 pairs, smaller. The sori are dorsally borne on the pinnae, arranged in a row on each side of the midrib; the sori cover is round, brown, and persistent.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in the shade and wet places under forests on hillsides.

【Functions and indications】 Clearing away heat and detoxifying; cooling blood and stopping bleeding; expelling parasites; preventing and treating influenza; Japanese encephalitis. Mainly used for vomiting blood, epistaxis, metrorrhagia, postpartum bloody stool, intestinal parasites

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 10-15g.
