[Source] Medicinal material source: branches, leaves and bark of the plant Prunus mume of the Garcinia family.

[Original form] Prunus armeniaca is a tree, about 25m tall. The whole plant is bald. The bark is gray-black with white spots. The twigs are slightly flattened or nearly quadrangular, with grooves on the stem. Simple leaves are opposite; petioles are 8-15mm long; stipules are tiny, triangular, about 1mm long, and fall off; leaves are purple-red when young, membranous, nearly leathery when old, oblong, rarely oblong-ovate or obovate-oblong, 8-13cm long, 3-5.5cm wide, with slightly obtuse and acuminate tips, base broadly cuneate, rarely rounded, yellow-green or black above, slightly pale below when dry, midrib convex below, 5-7 lateral veins on each side. Flowers are heterosexual and monoecious; male flowers are axillary and terminal cymes with 4-10 flowers; pedicels are stout, 3-5mm long, with 2-3 bracteoles near the base; sepals are 4, nearly equal, rounded, about 3mm wide, and concave; petals are 4, ovate, about 5mm long, obtuse, with nearly transparent edges; stamens are extremely numerous (300-400), fused into a 4-lobed ring, filaments are extremely short, anthers are oblong, 2-chambered, and longitudinally fissured; reduced pistils are mushroom-shaped, stigma is shield-shaped, convex, and slightly longer than the stamen ring; female flowers are usually solitary in leaf axils, slightly larger than male flowers, filaments of reduced stamens are fused into 4 bundles, ovary is spherical, about 2.5mm high, without edges, and has 1 basal ovule. The drupe is fusiform, with a hemispherical stigma at the tip. The flowering period is June-July, and the fruiting period is November-December.
