[Original form] Jilin Aconitum is a perennial herb, 80-120cm tall. Taproot, dark brown. The stem is erect, with long, spreading yellow hairs at the bottom and short, recurved yellow hairs at the top. Leaves are alternate; petiole is 20-30cm long; leaf blade is kidney-shaped pentagonal, 12-17cm long, 20-24cm wide, 3-parted, central lobe is broadly rhombic, 3-parted, side lobes are 2-3-parted or deeply parted, lobes are 1-2 shallowly lobed, lobule has sharp and coarse teeth, covered with short curved soft hairs on the upper side, covered with long hairs on the veins below or nearly hairless. The raceme has 6-17 flowers, and the inflorescence axis and pedicel are covered with recurved short soft hairs; the pedicel is 8-12mm long; the bracteoles are born in the middle or lower part of the pedicel; the flowers are bisexual and bilaterally symmetrical; the sepals are 5, petal-shaped, yellow, covered with short soft hairs on the outside, the upper sepal is cylindrical, 1.4-1.8cm high, with a short beak, slightly concave lower edge, 9-10mm long, the lateral sepals are broadly obovate, about 8mm long, and the lower sepal is narrowly elliptical; the flower tip is swollen, straight or curved backwards; there are many stamens, the filaments are entire, glabrous or ciliate; there are 3 carpels, glabrous. Fruit follicles, 1-1.2 cm long, glabrous. Seeds numerous, triangular, about 2.5mm long, densely covered with wavy narrow transverse wings. The flowering period is from July to September, and the fruiting period is from August to October.
