[Pharmacological action] Anti-inflammatory effect: Intraperitoneal injection of 40 mg/kg of oleanolic acid has a significant anti-inflammatory effect on experimental arthritis in rats induced by acetic acid and carrageenan.

[Toxicity] Toxicity: The LD50 of total glycosides of Aralia dasyphylla for mice by oral administration is 724 mg/kg. The dose of 1/32-1/2 LD50 has no effect on the mouse micronucleus test. The dose of 1/45-1/5 LD50 has no effect on the mouse dominant lethality test. The 0.0016 mg/ml-16 mg/ml Ames test has no mutagenic effect.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decocted in water, 9-15g.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat joint pain caused by rheumatism: 50 cents of white bark of Aralia dasyphylla root. Add one bowl of water and half a bowl of rice wine, boil it into one bowl, take one dose each morning and evening for several days, and then take it for another three days after the pain stops. (Commonly used herbal medicine among the people of Zhejiang) ②Treat edema caused by nephritis: 1 to 2 taels of Aralia root. Add appropriate amount of water and boil it, take twice a day.

If the patient is already in a state of distress, take the root, crush it, sit on it, and the qi will be taken out, and water will flow down naturally. It can also rot people's teeth. If there are worms in the teeth, take a piece of stone as big as a stick and put it into the hole, and it will rot away by itself.
