[Original form] Perennial herb, 20-80cm tall. The whole plant is smooth and hairless. The root is cylindrical, unbranched or 1-2 branches, gray-brown, with an uneven surface, slightly sweet taste, a thick and short root neck, and many short leaf sheath fibers remaining. The stem is single, with a few branches above the middle, cylindrical, 2-4mm thick, smooth and hairless. There are 2 to many basal leaves; petiole up to 18cm long, leaf blade slightly leathery, slightly pink-green, one to two times ternate, the first pinnae are articulated at the split, elliptic to linear-lanceolate, acute at apex, 2-12cm long, 2-12mm wide, occasionally up to 4cm, entire, recurved margin, 3-10 nearly parallel veins, surface veins slightly raised, back veins significantly raised; leaves in the middle of the stem are similar to basal leaves, lobes slightly narrower, upper leaves linear, often undivided; stipules short, linear. Rays 5-7, 1.5-3.5cm long; involucral bracts 6-10, united at base, lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate; umbels with 12-18 flowers; petals yellow or light yellow, nearly square, oblong or kidney-shaped, with 3 brown-red veins, the middle one being the most prominent; calyx teeth pointed; stylopodium conical, thick, with clefts. The fruit is ovate-oblong, slightly purple, slightly pentagonal in cross section, with thin, slightly raised dorsal ridges; each groove contains 1-2 oil tubes, and the commissure has 4 oil tubes. The flowering period is August-September, and the fruiting period is September-October.
