[Source] Macleaya cordata (Willd.) R. Brown, a plant of the genus Macleaya in the family Papaveraceae, is used as medicine with its whole plant . Harvested in autumn and sun-dried.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, cold. Very poisonous.

【Functions and indications】 Dispel wind and detoxify, disperse blood stasis and reduce swelling. Used for bruises, rheumatic joint pain, carbuncle, lower limb ulcers (mash the fresh product and apply externally or grind it into powder and sprinkle it on the affected area), vaginal trichomoniasis (boil it in water and rinse the vagina), eczema (boil it in water), burns (grind it into powder and apply it to the affected area). It can also kill maggots.
