The scorpion is an edible animal and has a long history of being used as medicine. However, many people may not be very familiar with the effects and functions of the scorpion. Therefore, we can try to learn more about the medicine scorpion in our daily life to increase our understanding. Let’s take a look at some relevant knowledge suggestions below. In order to clearly understand the effects and functions of the whole scorpion, we must have a reasonable understanding of the whole scorpion. For example, this kind of whole scorpion is a relatively dry whole insect. The head and thorax or the front abdomen of the whole scorpion presents us with a relatively flat and oblong shape, and the rear abdomen is tail-shaped. The complete one is about 6 cm long. The whole body is green-brown, the abdomen and limbs are yellow, and the tip of the tail spine is brown. After the chest is broken, black or brown residues can be seen inside, and the posterior abdomen is hollow. It is light, crispy, slightly fishy and salty in taste. The best ones are yellow in color, complete, and with little debris in the stomach. Some use only the posterior abdomen, which is called "scorpion tail" or "scorpion tip". The head, thorax and front abdomen of this product are flat and oblong, the back abdomen is tail-shaped, wrinkled and curved, and the complete body is about 6cm long. The cephalothorax is green-brown, with a pair of short chelicerae and a pair of longer, pincer-like antennae in the front, shaped like crab claws. The back is covered with a trapezoidal carapace, and the ventral side has four pairs of legs, all with 7 segments, each with two claws at the end; the anterior abdomen is composed of 7 segments, the seventh segment is dark in color, and there are 5 ridges on the carapace. The back is green-brown, the abdomen is brown-yellow, with 6 segments, each with longitudinal grooves. The last segment has a sharp hook-shaped stinger, and there is no spur below the stinger. Anticonvulsant effect: When mice were orally administered 1 gram of Zhijingsan (a mixture of equal amounts of whole scorpion and centipede dry powder) per day for 1, 3, and 9 days, it had antagonistic effects on convulsions caused by pentamethyltetrazolium, strychnine, and nicotinic acid. The effect against convulsions caused by strychnine was the most significant, followed by nicotinic acid, pentamethyltetrazolium was the worst, and cocaine had no effect. The whole scorpion and centipede are also effective when applied separately at 1 gram per day, but the effect of the whole scorpion is weaker than that of the centipede. Effect on the cardiovascular system: Intravenous injection of whole scorpion extract and decoction can cause a temporary drop in blood pressure in rabbits and dogs (a temporary increase can be seen in a few cases), but it quickly recovers, followed by a gradual and lasting drop in blood pressure that lasts for more than 1 to 3 hours. Administration by oral gavage or intramuscular injection still has a significant and lasting antihypertensive effect, and repeated use does not cause rapid tolerance. The principle of lowering blood pressure is to inhibit the vasomotor center, dilate blood vessels, directly inhibit the heart, and counteract the pressor effect of adrenaline. It has a significant sedative effect on awake animals, but does not make them fall asleep, which may also be related to lowering blood pressure. The sodium scorpionate salt isolated from the whole scorpion produced a temporary drop in blood pressure when injected intravenously into anesthetized rabbits, but it had an excitatory effect on the isolated frog heart and a constrictive effect on the frog hind limbs and isolated rabbit ear blood vessels. The scorpion has many functions and effects. The above knowledge about the scorpion and the drug treatment effects of the scorpion are relatively good. We must be clear about this knowledge. Otherwise, if we blindly use the scorpion in our daily life, it will bring danger to people's health. We must know this. |
