What are the effects of Ma Lao Po Lian Cao

Ma Lao Po and Rehmannia root look very similar. The best way to identify these inferior herbs is: the root color is different. The root of Ma Lao Po is white with a slight yellow color, while the root of Rehmannia root is yellow. This makes it easy to distinguish them without mistake. As for medicinal properties, autumn and summer are the best seasons. This kind of grass is very cold-resistant and will not freeze to death even on the snow in winter, so it is called holly or snowgreen in many places.

1. Treat gynecological diseases

Acute mastitis: Take an excessive amount of fresh lychee grass, wash and mash it, and stuff it into the affected nostril for 20-30 minutes each time, twice a day. Vaginitis and cervical corruption: Wash and cut 1 jin of litchi grass, add 6-7 jin of water, boil for 10 minutes, filter, and rinse the vagina; or dilute the medicine to 500 ml, wash the vagina, and then use a cotton ball dipped in the diluted solution to insert it into the cervix in the vagina (the cotton ball needs to be tied with a thread to facilitate pulling it out). Rinse and change cotton balls once a day. One course of treatment is 7 days. Stop the second course after 2-3 days.

2. Treat hemorrhoids

Use 1 jin of fresh lychee grass and add 5-6 jin of water to make a liquid medicine. First fumigate for 5-10 minutes, then wait for the water to cool to about 40℃ and then wash for 10 minutes. Use it 3 to 5 times and hemorrhoids can be cured or relieved.

3. Treat sore throat, bronchitis, and diuresis

Use 5-10 grams of fresh lychee grass or 3-5 grams of dried lychee grass to soak in water and drink it.

The decoction can inhibit or kill Leptospira in vitro (1.9 mg/mL by direct microscopy and 3.9 mg/mL by culture).
