Umbels form large panicles, 20-30cm long, with axis and branches densely covered with flat spines and rigid procumbent hairs; bracts triangular to triangular-lanceolate; umbels have several flowers, white; bracteoles are linear; calyx has 5 teeth; petals are 5, triangular-oblong; stamens are 5; ovary is semi-inferior, 2-chambered, styles are fused into a short column.
