[Source] The whole body of the Chinese forest frog or Amur forest frog of the Ranidae family , with the internal organs removed . Catch it around the White Dew Festival. After catching a male frog, open its abdomen, remove the internal organs, wash them, and hang them up to air-dry or dry them in the sun. [Habitat distribution] It is produced in Sichuan, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia and other places.

[Properties] The dried toad has a stiff body with purple-brown spots, a yellow-white abdomen with a slight red tint, a hollow abdomen, and the ventral surface of the hind limbs is often light red. The meat is dry, light and has a fishy smell. The best ones are those with a large body, yellow-red belly and a dry body.

[Chemical composition] Chinese forest frog contains ranahol, a type of cholesterol. The content of adenosine triphosphate in its gastrocnemius muscle varies with the season, with a maximum of 240 mg%, a minimum of 150 mg%, adenosine diphosphate (maximum) 40 mg%, and a minimum of 20 mg%, and it does not contain adenosine monophosphate.
