[Source] Medicinal material source: The root of Lithops multispikeensis of the Fagaceae family.

【Original form】 Evergreen tree, 11-15m high. The twigs are light brown when young, and dark brown-black when old and dry. Leaves are alternate; petiole 2-2.5cm long, thickened at base, often dark brown, sometimes covered with grayish white powdery frost; leaf blade leathery, oblong or ovate-oblong, 7-14cm long, 3-4cm wide, apex acute or suddenly acuminate, base cuneate, entire, glabrous, slightly grayish white beneath, 7-10 pairs of lateral veins, slender, sparse, slightly obvious branch veins, and small veins usually inconspicuous. Male inflorescences are rarely compound spikes; female flowers are in clusters of 3, often 1 of which bears fruit. The infructescence is 8-10cm long, with a slender axis and about 5mm in diameter; the cupule is shallowly disc-shaped, surrounding the base of the nut, with a diameter of 9-14mm and a height of 3-5mm; the scaly bracts are arranged in a whorl, small, fused with the cupule except at the top, and covered with brown-black hairs; the nut is oblate, 1.6-1.8cm in diameter, 9-13mm long, with a conical tip at the top when immature, nearly flat when mature, with a short tip in the center, truncated at the base, and glabrous; the navel is deeply sunken, with a diameter of 6-8mm. The flowering period is from May to September, and the fruiting period is from May to September of the following year.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in dense forests in mountains at an altitude of 400-2000m, occasionally seen in roadside bushes.

【Functions and indications】Nourishes the liver and kidneys; eliminates rheumatism. Mainly used for kidney deficiency and low back pain; rheumatic pain
