In fact, as a common Chinese herbal medicine in life, many friends who don’t know much about Chinese medicine may not be very familiar with it. The earthworm is a so-called earthworm that grows in humid and muddy places. The tiny insects are bred and cultivated into male and female. Although this insect looks very scary, it has a good effect on promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, and insufficient qi and blood. Next, I will introduce to you what the earthworm medicine is like. The Chinese medicinal material Eupolyphaga sinensis is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine. It was first recorded in "Shennong Bencao Jing" and listed as a medium-grade product. There are three types of commodities: Su Tuyuan, Han Tuyuan and Jinbian Tuyuan. The first two types are marketed in a wider area, while the latter is usually sold in parts of Central and South China, East China, and Jilin. Other names: earthworm, earthworm, and earthworm. Source: Su Tuyuan: The dried body of the female Earth Bean, an insect of the family Geocheloneidae. Han Tuyuan: The dried body of the female insect of the same family, the Chinese earthworm. The male insects of the above two species, whether wild or farmed, are small, flat and thin with wings, and are not used for medicinal purposes. Golden-edged earthworm: the dried bodies of both male and female red-edged water blenny (Ouestrigidae), an insect of the Blattidae family. Mostly for breeding. The effects and functions of the earthworm: breaking up blood, removing blood stasis, and relieving knots. Preparation: Use raw. Nature and flavor: salty, cold, poisonous. Meridians: Enters the Liver meridian. Function: Remove blood stasis and regulate menstruation. Indications: amenorrhea due to blood stasis, abdominal pain due to lumps, pain due to blood stasis caused by trauma. Clinical application: 1. Used for traumatic injuries with bruises or fractures. The Chinese beetle helps to reduce swelling and relieve pain. Take orally for 6 to 9 grams per day with wine. It can also be combined with natural copper, bone-healing rhizome, frankincense, myrrh, etc., such as Diudasan. For external use, it can be combined with other blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing medicines for decoction and external washing. 2. To treat liver enlargement caused by chronic hepatitis or early cirrhosis, and dull pain in the liver area, it can be taken internally with Curcuma, Panax notoginseng, chicken's gizzard lining, etc., which have the effect of promoting blood circulation and relieving pain. 3. To treat ectopic pregnancy with lumps and blood stasis, you can use Scolopendra subspinipes plus Siwu Decoction, and then add Bohuang, Wulingzhi, Huaruishi, etc. 4. Try to use it in anti-cancer, because it has the effect of softening and dispersing nodules, and it is often used in combination with other anti-cancer drugs. For example, to treat uterine fibroids, you can use the earthworm with Artemisia selengensis, Artemisia annua, Iron-wrapped Gold, Chuanpo Stone, Tiger Milk Ganoderma, etc. Note: The earthworm is different from the leech. Although both can break up blood, the earthworm also has the function of promoting blood circulation and harmonizing blood. Its medicinal properties are not very strong, so it can also be used for deficiency syndromes. Leeches are good at breaking up blood and have strong medicinal properties, so they are generally not used by the weak. Dosage: 6-12g is generally used for decoction, 9-15g is used for anti-cancer; 1.2-1.8g is taken in pills or powders, and the ones soaked in wine and then stir-fried are more effective. Prescription example: Diudasan: 15g of Scolopendra subspinipes (remove the head and feet, grind into powder), 9g of natural copper (calcined powder), 9g of Drynaria fortunei, 9g of Angelica sinensis, 9g of Carthamus tinctorius, 9g of frankincense, 9g of myrrh, 9g of Zedoariae rhizome, 9g of Paeonia lactiflora, 9g of Dipsacus asper, grind them all into very fine powder (can also be made into pills), take 3-6g each time with warm water or rice wine. Note: Compendium of Materia Medica states that insects are salty, cold and poisonous, but no obvious toxicity has been found in clinical applications. In addition, in the past, some areas used aquatic crustacean insects such as water beetles as earthworms. In Guangdong, Guangxi and other regions, earthworms were salted and then steamed or fried and used as food. It is said that they can nourish kidney water, reduce urine, and have a tonic effect. It has different effects from the earthworm and should not be used together. The earth beetle may sound scary to everyone, but it has medicinal properties that can cure diseases. Most of them are very common in Guangdong and Guangxi. It is an edible food that can nourish yin and kidney and help us clear the liver and promote diuresis.
