[Original form] Viburnum quinata is an evergreen shrub, erect or climbing, up to 3m high. The twigs are numerous, covered with coarse hairs, gradually becoming glabrous as they age, and have nearly circular lenticels. Leaves opposite; petiole 3-6mm long; leaves papery to thick papery; obovate, obovate-elliptical, 2-5cm long, 1.5-2.5cm wide, apex acute or rounded, base cuneate, with a few irregularly rounded or blunt coarse teeth or notches above the middle of the margin, rarely nearly entire, often with scattered brown glandular dots on the underside, with clusters of hairs in the vein axils, 2-3 pairs of lateral veins, prominent on the underside. The cymes are arranged in a cone shape; the pedicels are less than 3mm long; the calyx tube is tubular, about 1mm long, and the calyx mast has 5 fine teeth; the corolla is white with a slightly lavender halo, radial, and about 1.5mm long; there are 5 stamens, slightly longer than the corolla. The drupe is red, ovate-elliptical, 6-8mm long; the core is flat, with 2 shallow dorsal grooves and 3 shallow ventral grooves. The flowering period is from April to June, and the fruiting period is from September to December.
