【English name】 all-grass of Fingered Schizaea

[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Cyperus rotundus, a plant of the Cyperaceae family.

[Original form] Terrestrial fern. The rhizome is short and horizontal, with short brown hairs on the top. Leaves are clustered; petioles are nearly round, brown, 2.5-5cm long, and their apex is difficult to distinguish from the narrowing base of the leaf blade; leaves are grass-like, herbaceous or papery, linear, 20-25cm long, 2-5mm wide, flat, entire, with narrow cartilaginous edges, often curled upward after drying; there is only one main vein; spore leaves are the same type as the nutrient leaves, with the upper end contracted and deeply palmately divided into 5-15 lobes; the lobes are 2-4cm long and about 1mm wide. The sporangium is brown-yellow and arranged in two rows on both sides of the main vein below the lobe, almost covering the entire underside of the lobe when mature.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown under sparse forests on dry and barren sandy loam in low mountains and hills at an altitude of about 200m.
