【Functions and indications】Hemostasis and swelling reduction. Treats vomiting blood, epistaxis, metrorrhagia, and bloody diarrhea. Carbuncle on the back.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral administration: grind into juice, 1 to 3 qian, or make into pills or powder. For external use: grind into juice and apply.

【Note】 "Compendium of Materia Medica" states: "It is not appropriate to use this medicine to stop bleeding at the beginning of a fever or plague."

[Additional prescription] ① To treat severe vomiting of blood: grind 2 qian of fine ink into powder, mix with donkey-hide gelatin in white soup, and make it as thick as you like. Take it all at once. It is especially suitable for those with excessive heat. ("Compendium of Materia Medica")

【Discussions by various scholars】 ①《Ben Jing Feng Yuan》: "Mo, to stop vomiting and bleeding, or raw lotus root juice, or radish juice, or fresh Rehmannia root juice can be ground and taken. But do not use dried Rehmannia root and water to grind. Cypress leaf juice and sweet banana juice are salty and not suitable, and often cause blood stasis after stopping the bleeding."

[Source] From "Ben Jing Feng Yuan"; 1. "Bencao Yan Yi": Ink is the smoke of pine. Some people in the world use millet grass to fake it, which cannot be used. Only pine soot ink can be used as medicine. However, Huaiyuan smoke is better. There is petroleum in Luyan area. When it is burned, the smoke is very thick. The coal can be turned into ink, which is black and shiny like lacquer. Pine soot cannot be used. The inscription on it says "Yanchuan Shiye" is not suitable for human medicine and should be attached here.
